October 2002: 

Laika returns to the set of Harry's Practice to work with Katrina in their summer "DOG COAT" Special. Laika also performs group stays with other dogs surrounding Katrina. This special will air over the Christmas Period 2002

April 2002: 

Laika worked in a commercial for Claratin (US).  The setting is a Ski-Lodge, with people having a party, and a cat snuggled up on a comfy stool. Laika's "owner" comes through the door from skiing and she runs to him past the cat, and greets him with tail wagging....

This commercial will be aired in May in the northern States of the US. Please keep your eye out for her.

In November 2001, Laika went back to the set of Harry's Practice to compete against 4 other well trained dogs for the "Big Dog Challenge" Segment. Here is Laika with Dr Katrina Warren and the other competitors; John the Old English Sheepdog X; Sarah the Doberman X, Bryce the German Shepherd, and Jesse the Spaniel X.

 

The first exercise is to go "Under the Limbo Bar"

 The height is lowered until 
each competitor 
is eliminated.

Laika woo's the crew in the "Loudest Bark" exercise with her "Talk on Command"

 Laika's soft woo measured 87.5 of the decibel metre, but could not compare to that of Bryce, who's loud bark measured 105 DBs.
 

"The Obstacle Course"  requires a combination of skills. First the  dog has to jump a "dog-bed" and not sleep or lie in it. Then he has to run past a big basket of juicy dog bones without licking or eating them. Once past the bones the dog has to pick up his favourite toy from a pile of toys (effectively scent discrimination), and run through the streamers at the end to "finish". The exercise is timed and the fastest time with the least faults wins


Laika completed this exercise in 8.5 seconds with one fault for going around the dog bed. She picked up her toy and went around these bones without a glance sideways! Bryce came first with a 7.5 second and one fault for going around the streamers at the end.

So come on Laika, Bryce is in first place on the leader board and you are a close second. You only have one more chance to win. You have to eat fast and beat Bryce to become the overall winner of the "Harry's Practice Big Dog Challenge". Dr Katrina gives Laika some encouragement to win.
 

 The FINAL exercise is the  "Fastest Eater"
Laika, a gentle eater, completed her meal in 47 seconds, however, Bryce the German Shepherd was unbeatable in 28 seconds.. just a "greedy-guts". Bryce therefore won on points for the day.
The competitors on the winning podium with their prizes. Bryce the German Shepherd was first, and won the trophy, but Laika came a close second, winning a Drizabone Dog Coat.  Sarah came third also winning a Drizabone, with John and Jesse bringing in the tail.

 In September 2001, Laika worked on Harry's Practice as part of a "Feature" episode called "Canine Instincts". Laika had to perform stays in amongst a variety of breeds of dogs, small and large very close together. Here Laika is with the female Star of the Show: Katrina Warren.
